Sulphamic Acid is most commonly used for the preparation of acidic cleaning agents for metals & ceramics and serves as a catalyst for the esterification process. It has molecular formula H3NSO3 with a molar mass of 97.10 g/mol and density of 2.15 g/cm3. This acid has a role to play for detergents that are intended for removing limescale. It is also used in the manufacturing of dyes & pigments and as a chloride stabilizer for the pulp & paper industry. Sulphamic Acid is required for preparation of agricultural herbicide and acts as coagulator for urea-formaldehyde resins as well. It appears as white colored crystals that are moderately soluble in water and has a melting point of about 205 degrees Celsius.
